My office is a wreck because we’re doing some remodeling, so I can’t find a book that I wanted to quote.  But the gist of it was one of the Founding Fathers saying that on the 4th there should be fireworks, gunshots, sports games, cannons, church bells and about any other way of celebrating our independence.

What goes off in my mind is Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture.  I love the cannons and the church bells…gives me goose bumps.
