Problems are generally those things or occasions that come between us and what we want to do or accomplish….or at least that’s my take on problems, and it covers a lot of territory.

The Bible teaches us, in both Old and New Testament, that when problems interfere with our lives some good communication with God is in order.  Godly people all throughout time have consulted God when they encountered problems, and the result was usually a way through (not necessarily around) those problems.

What that tells me is that the answer to problems is communication, and communication with God is prayer.  When problems arise, those things or occasions that come between us and what we want to do or accomplish, take them as the song says, “Take it to the Lord in prayer.”

No time to write today…in the meantime, be positive.  Have a Tiger (spelled T-i double grrrr – rrrr) attitude and not an Eore attitude.  If you never read or watched Winnie the Poo you probably won’t understand Tiger or Eore.

The Bible outlines a path following Jesus as well defined as this one:

New camera 052

It is the problems, the cares of the world that seems to make that path as obscure as this one:

Me and Kevin 152

Pray for the wisdom to recognize the well defined path.  Pray to recognize Jesus Christ as the answer to our problems.

Sunshine looks so good this morning.  Today will be a great day.

Living in Jesus’ name allows us a freedom to enjoy the creation that God has declared good (flaws and all) and the opportunity to serve God without fear of whether or not we’re worthy of God’s love.

By ourselves we are not worthy of God’s love but he made us worthy through the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Rainy days and bad weather make me think of my dad.  When the weather was the worst he always had to get out in it for some reason.  If there were no good reasons he would make one up.  I get that from him.  That said, I like rainy days because I feel creative on rainy days (snow works too).

With my work for the day nearly done, I am listening to “Singers and Swing” on channel 838, smelling the turnip greens I just cooked (seasoned just right with some good ole fatback) watching the rain fall ever so easy through the front window, and thinking about tomorrow’s morning message.  I don’t get many afternoons like that so I’ll enjoy this one to the fullest.

I just read back over what I’ve written and I suppose I’m rambling a bit so I’ll stop.  Think a little bit about what it means to live “In Jesus’ name.”  We’ll talk about that tomorrow.

Headed out to work at the fair.  Hope to have some pictures afterwhile.

Be conscious today about the image we show.  Can people look at me and come to the conclusion that Jesus died for our sin?

Following Jesus as closely as possible has its benefits.  A by-product of faith in Christ is the fruit of the Spirit.  Living with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness gentleness, and self-control is a life filled with as much as heaven can offer here on earth.  Sort of makes me want to pray, “…thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.”

Thinking about what difference it makes to us that Jesus died for our sin.  How do we show other people what it means in our life that Jesus did that?

In other words, if we believe Jesus died for our sin what does our life look like to other people we meet day to day?          …Think about that…
