I was three years old the last time the USA won a gold medal in four man bobsled. But last night the USA ended that drought by easily winning. It was interesting to see what a high those four guys were on.
Contrast that with the girl who won the Bronze Medal in ladies figure skating. Two days before her performance her mother died. There was some excitement, but it was bitter-sweet excitement.
It seems to me that in both cases what got these athletes through their ups and downs was a focus on their strengths. I don’t know where any of these folks stand with God but their determination carried them through to the end. That tells me that as Christians if we want to make it through to the end we are to focus on our strength too…Jesus Christ.
