As Jesus rode on into Jerusalem amid the cheers and the shouts of “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” Jesus also noticed those standing by with arms folded in disgust telling him to silence his followers.

Jesus was giving a mental picture of the Kingdom he was bringing in…A kingdom where his rule would be in the hearts and minds of people, a people who live among a people many of which still didn’t recognize his kingdom…and it’s still that way today.

There would still be doubts, there would still be the unbelievers, some would still offer criticism of what he had to say, or the depth of love that he showed to anybody…

There always was and probably always will be fierce opposition to the depth of God’s love.

Who Jesus, is the most sinful? Who Jesus did you die for?…What Jesus is the extent of your love, how far does your love go?…

And Jesus said, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his Son that whoever believed would have eternal life”  Whoever believed…So we stop and think, “Who are those believers Jesus, surely not those who think different than we do, surely not those who don’t fit our ideas of what a believer is, surely not those who love the enemy, surely not those who associate with sinners”  I’ll say it again…There always was, and there always will be fierce opposition to the depth of God’s love…

Something to think about…
