All of our actions speak as to where our mind is. That means that if we keep God in our thoughts that our actions will be closer to what God had in mind for us.
If our mind is on our worries then our actions may not reveal God’s mercies. If our mind is on God’s mercies we don’t spend as much time worrying. Look for God in all situations and we will find him there somewhere.
In order for our lives to reveal a holy God, actions must give way to holy thinking. Jesus said to pray this way:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
Matthew 6:9 (NLT)
And then Jesus went on to tell us how to think and pray.
As we go through the day trying to be true to our witness, trying to follow Jesus’ leading and allow our lives to show the fruit of the Spirit, think about how our actions show where our mind is.
If our actions don’t reflect a holy God…well…turn back to Jesus and ask for help. I’m going to practice that today.
