Getting some quiet time in this morning before a busy day…

While trying to spend some time thinking and praying this morning, I discovered something to be true that I have thought about before, even preached about but I haven’t noticed it in my life for some time even though I suspect it’s been happening all along.  And that reminded me:

“Sometimes distractions that rob of us our much needed time alone with God come disguised as necessary things that must be done.”

It is to our credit when we recognize these distractions for what they are, necessary but can wait a bit.

We often feel guilty when we attend to our own spiritual needs before we set out to meet the needs of others.  Reality though, is that it’s hard to meet the needs of others if we don’t attend to our own spiritual health.

Just some thoughts for the day…
