Palm Sunday is over, Jesus spent his last hours of earthly life preparing his followers for their life without him saying, “Now that you know these things you will be blessed if you do them.”
( John 13:17).

The disciples hadn’t yet grasped what Jesus was talking about…they didn’t yet have an understanding of what Jesus meant…but after the resurrection, and after coming face to face with the resurrected Christ, the faithful few could describe the event of Easter as:

Easter is about Life, new life.  Easter is about finding the living among the dead.  Easter is about resurrecting the new from the old.  Easter is about God revealing himself as the power over all things, even death.

Easter is about Love.  Easter is about faith.  Easter is about joy.  Easter is about humility.  Easter is about forgiveness.  Easter is about Peace.  Easter is about patience.  Easter is about perfection.  Easter is about Grace.  Easter is about fulfillment.  Easter is about beginnings.  Easter is about perseverance. Easter is about understanding God’s power.  Easter is about mercy.  Easter is about sacrifice.  Easter is about hope.  Easter is about pardon.  Easter is about truth.  Easter is about compassion.  Easter is about conviction.  Easter is about endurance.  Easter is about freedom.  Easter is about courage.  Easter is about victory.

All of these words (and more) were used by the apostles after the resurrection in connection with what God had done through Jesus…it is through these same words that we today describe not only the event that changed the world, but these same words describe what our life is to be about as well.

Peace

Jim
