Distractions take our mind away from God, and often turn our attention to more worldly matters, things that take our attention to the details of the kingdom, and figuratively put them under a bushel somewhere…

And when we do that, when we put the details of the kingdom under a bushel, we begin to blend in with our surroundings. And when we blend in with our surroundings we look no different from the frustration that stole our attention in the first place.

Distractions limit our spiritual growth by stealing our attention away from details of the kingdom, and those details the Apostle Paul implies are:

“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”  Philippians 4:8 NIV
