I’ve been thinking about repentance and faith and how repentance is the dawning of faith.  And if that is true, then we all begin with the same amount of faith, the faith to believe.  Jesus began by saying, “Repent and believe the Good News.” (Mark 1:15)  Faith allows us to believe.

So if we all began with the same amount of faith…how has our faith grown?  The faith to believe was enough to turn us a different direction…but was it enough to carry us farther than just an about-face, just turning around?

My guess is that if our faith never grew past believing the Good News then our faith probably didn’t take us past the edge of our security.

Jesus’ parable of the tenants in Luke 19 comes to my mind where Jesus asked, “What have you done with what I gave you?”

The question for us becomes, how has our faith been involved with our answer?
